Student of the Month November 2022

It's time for the Student of the Month! Our tutors have chosen Ashleigh, who is currently studying Italian with Lingo Flamingo and has kindly offered us some insight into her language-learning journey...

Can you tell us a bit about your chosen picture? What aspect of your language learning journey does it represent to you?
"This photo represents the reason and motivation behind my language journey. My partner is Italian, and although he speaks almost perfect English, his family in Italy knows very little. Learning Italian is important to me as it helps me form a relationship with my partner’s family and feel included. When I feel like giving up, I think about this, and it motivates me to keep going!"

What is your favourite word/phrase you have learnt so far?
"Favourite phrase - ‘Ne vale la pena’ - it’s worth it"

What's your favourite part of learning with Lingo Flamingo?
"My favourite part of language learning with Lingo Flamingo is meeting so many other like-minded people with similar language goals. We all help and motivate each other to learn while at the same time having lots of fun!"

How have you used your language skills so far?
"Recently, I visited Rome with a friend. I decided before going to challenge myself by trying to talk as much in Italian as I could, even if I said the wrong thing. Doing this made me realise how far I have come in my language journey and improved the whole holiday experience!"
